Within the GreenTE Gravitation program, we are looking for a talented Postdoc to explore mechanisms underlying mechanical signaling during seed germination. In this GreenTE subproject “How do cells communicate during seed germination?” we aim for mapping the mechanical responses during seed germination. Within the team you will be responsible for investigating how the mechanical responses are converted into biochemical signals. This research might include the identification and characterization of signaling proteins, investigating the effects of genetically modifying these proteins (e.g. By CRISPR) and / or localization studies.
The candidate will be embedded in the Wageningen Seed Science Centre (Leónie Bentsink group) which is part of the Laboratory of Plant physiology, Wageningen University. The (full-time) position is funded for 3 years and available from September 2026 onwards.
